MPC Renamer

What It Does

Full rename

Renames the .xpj file and the _[ProjectData] folder, and updates the references inside the project.

Search

Find any project instantly, even across hundreds of them.

Preview

See exactly what will change before you confirm. Nothing happens until you say so.

Private

Runs on your computer. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

No setup

Open the page or the app, point it at your folder. That's it.

MPC native

Built for Akai MPC project files. Not a generic renamer.

How It Works

  1. Choose your projects folder

Point it at the folder that holds your .xpj files. It lists every project with its size.

  2. Rename

Type the new name and check the preview of what will change.

  3. Done

The .xpj, the data folder and the references inside are all updated. Load it on your MPC and go.

Works with MPC Software, MPC Live, MPC One, MPC X, MPC Key and more

Free to Use

Built this to fix my own messy project folders. If it helps you out, donations are appreciated but never required.

“Unidentified developer” warning when you open the Mac app?

It isn't from the App Store, so macOS asks the first time. That's normal. To open: right-click the app, choose Open, then Open again. You only do this once.
